·         Uppercase

·         1/32 inch above the background

·         In a sans serif font — decorative or script fonts are not allowed.

·         According to the height of uppercase "I, "must have a height between five-eighths and two inches, according to the height of uppercase "I."

·         The width of the letter "O" will be a minimum of 55% of the height of uppercase "I" and will be a maximum of 110% of "I"  's height.

·         Raised characters can be a half-inch, at least when visual characters are present and deliver similar information.

·         The width of the letter "I" will be, maximum, 15% of its height.

·         Spacing between characters will be one-eighth inch at least.

·         Spacing between separate lines will be at least 135% of the height of the raised characters.

·         The edges of the raised characters should be smooth. They should not be rough or sharp.

 

Braille letters requirements as per Section 703:

 

·         Braille dots have to be the rounded or domed shape.

·         Dots should be 1.5 mm to 1.6 mm in diameter and between 0.6 mm and 0.9 mm in height.

·         The first letter of all sentences, names, and individual letters of the alphabet should be upper case, proper nouns, initials, and acronyms.
